Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/sacroiliac joint dysfunction. In so doing neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is improved.
This specific adjustment as a safe means to restore proper pelvic balance and function. This specific sacral analysis can be used on all weight bearing individuals to determine sacroiliac (SI) joint dysfunction/ sacral subluxation and is therefore applicable for the entire population.
The Webster Technique balances the pelvis/sacrum while also reducing the stress to the utero-sacral and round ligaments. There are ligaments in the body which help to support the baby in utero. The round ligaments support the uterus within the abdomen. As pregnancy progresses, the round ligaments can become thin and tight which can cause pain and restrict the space the baby has to move within the womb.
When pelvic and sacral imbalances are corrected, the baby is typically able to choose an optimal position for birth. Evidence has shown that women under prenatal chiropractic care report easier births, shorter labor times, and lower rates of interventions.
Doctors of Chiropractic do not turn breech babies. Webster Certified Doctors are trained to adjust the spine and pelvis to correct misalignments of the pelvis and scrum. Imbalance of these bones may cause uneven pulling of the attached pelvic muscles and ligaments. The Webster analysis and adjustment facilitates a state of pelvic balance, decreasing torsion to the uterus, offering greater room. This gives the baby the opportunity to get into the best possible position for birth.
Pediatric Adjustments/Prenatal Adjustments
Is it safe to get adjusted while pregnant?
Yes! In combination with the increasing size of the baby and pain it is highly recommended. Currently, we have several pregnant patients coming into my office for their symptoms during pregnancy including headaches, rib pain, upper back tightness and low back pain. An advantage to receiving adjustments routinely during your pregnancy is that it has been shown to actually decrease labor time. This is possible because when your pelvis is aligned properly, the muscles which contract during labor are able to work more efficiently and will not strain the uterus which ultimately causes severe low back pain.
What are subluxations or misalignments?
Subluxations, or misaligned vertebrae, occur in adults as well as children. Children usually receive their first misaligned vertebrae at birth due to trauma and complications. By correcting the misalignment at an early age through chiropractic treatments, it allows for the muscles, bones and nervous system to function properly during the vital stages of growth. Many parents who understand the significance of being adjusted regularly often have their newborns examined by their chiropractor right after birth!
Is it easier to adjust a child than an adult?
Not only are kids easier to adjust, it has been found that in most cases, children have the tendency to hold their adjustments longer than adults. But due to birth trauma, sports, falling, crawling, walking, accidents and simply "being a kid" requires regular checkups. Some parents are hesitant about getting their children adjusted even though they receive chiropractic care on a regular basis. It is essential to your child's growth and their ability to reach their optimal health.
Should I get adjusted while I am pregnant?
Yes! Not only is it safe to visit a chiropractor during your pregnancy, it is highly beneficial and recommended. Getting regularly adjusted while pregnant is a great way to relieve the added stress on your spine that comes along with increasing the size of the uterus, baby and overall weight gain. It is also important to maintain pelvic balance.
If my child cries, does that mean the adjustment hurts them?
No! We will work with your child so that they will become accustomed to the adjustments. In just a short period of time, the kids look forward to their adjustments and the stickers after their treatment! Chiropractic care is vital for your child's health and absolutely necessary for their development.
Cold Laser Technology
The only laser manufacturers with a 510K clearance as a NHN (non thermal) laser are the ML830 & Erchonia Laser. Both companies have a specific clearance with the FDA.
How Does Laser Light Heal?
Healing with the use of light is not new. With the development of the laser and its special properties, using light as a treatment has gained more popularity. This is because we can now use specific wavelengths of light and give accurately measured doses of energy directly to the appropriate treatment site, which was not possible with other light sources.
Low level lasers supply energy to the body in the form of non-thermal photons of light. Light is transmitted through the skin's layers (the dermis, epidermis and the subcutaneous tissue or tissue fat under the skin) at all wavelengths in the visible range. However, light waves in the near infrared ranges penetrate the deepest of all light waves in the visible spectrum. When low level laser light waves penetrate deeply into the skin, they optimize the immune responses of our blood. This has both anti-inflammatory and immunostimulate effects. It is a scientific fact that light transmitted to the blood in this way has positive effects throughout the whole body, supplying vital oxygen and energy to every cell.
What is LLLT?
LLLT (Low level laser therapy) is a painless, sterile, non-invasive, drug-free treatment which is used to treat a variety of pain syndromes, injuries, wounds, fractures, neurological conditions and pathologies. Laser therapy can be used any time a patient requests or needs a drug-less procedure for the control of pain, when conventional therapies have been ineffective, or when the acceleration of healing from in-juries is desired.
What to Expect During a Laser Therapy Treatment Session
For most people, laser therapy is quite passive. There are no pulsating shocks felt, as in forms of electronic stimulation, nor heat used as with ultrasounds. The most noticeable sensation is the touch of the probe head of the laser, as it comes in contact with the skin.
The treatment, which may last from 2 to 20 minutes, is not noticed at all. Following (and even during) a laser therapy session, approximately 75-80% of patients being treated can notice an immediate improvement in their condition. This will depend primarily on the type of condition and the length of time the condition has been present.
Generally, the more chronic or severe the condition, the longer it takes to respond. The majority of conditions treated will take anywhere from 4-5 or 10-18 treatments. Once again, the number of treatments depends upon the severity of the condition and its duration. If your condition does not change immediately, it may take 3-4 sessions before a dramatic or marked change is perceived.

Functional Medicine & Clinical Nutrition
What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach and engaging in patient-centered care. This approach promotes health beyond simply the absence of disease. By taking the time to listen to the patient and learn their particular story, this allows the doctor to create treatment plans that address the individual’s unique needs including but not limited to helping them succeed in taking control of their healthcare. Functional medicine addresses the whole person, not just isolated acute or chronic sets of symptoms.
How does it work?
Dr. Mulford will first order labs to give you a baseline of what you will need to work on and discuss them during your initial exam. Dr. Mulford focuses on organ based reflexes to determine the biochemical, neurological and nutritional imbalances and will create a customized program to help you reach your optimal health.

Initial Consultation is 60-90 minutes and follow up appointments are 60 minutes
INSiGHT scans measure the functional, active, neural signals in the autonomic, motor and sensory systems. X-rays show the passive, end results of postural change and disease. The INSiGHT tool helps to identify how stress and tension activity is changing a patient's health whereas x-rays look at the static, end effects in the spine and how adjustments and subluxations have made their deeper, structural changes. The two tests complement one another.
*Measures spinal nerve control of organs and glands
*Uses infrared technology to identify areas with poor autonomic regulation
